Product Care

Lintea Mare linens are exclusively made from high quality natural fibers  and it will last for years if they are well cared  for.
Proper cleaning and storage is essential to preserve and prolong the life of textiles and ensure that your linens retain their original quality.
Just read  the care label on each item and follow the maintenance rules below for best results.

BED LINEN CARE:

After the first wash, Lintea Mare sheets will shrink to some extent, as it is normal for natural fibers, but in most instances we overcut our items to allow for shrinkage. Avoid using hot settings for washing and drying to avoid extra shrinkage.

 Washing machine & detergent

Pre-wash your linens before using.

Wash your sheets with coloureds  together and separate from other products containing polyester or metal to avoid abrasion or peeling.

Do not overload the washing machine: this might cause fibers to break down or colours to fade. If the linens have coloured borders, it is normal that on the first few washes, the colour might fade , but they need to have enough space in the washing machine for rinsing.

Do not pour detergent directly onto the fabrics and be very careful to pre-treat any stains before washing, especially on colours. Rinse the sheets thoroughly until the water runs clear.

Use neutral or mild detergent that is not alkaline and that does not contain any bleach or brighteners.

Do not bleach because this might weak fibers and cause fabrics to yellow.

Drying

Dry your sheets on a low setting if you must machine dry and tumble dry for few minutes, no more than 5-7 minutes even if they are still damp. Hot temperature weakens the fibers causing shrinkage and peeling and it is very important not to let the linens dry completely because in the last minutes of a drying cycle the fabric overheats and dries out, making it brittle and lifeless over time.

Ironing

Remove the sheets form the dryer when they are still damp to reduce wrinkles.

Iron the damp linens on the reverse side.

Cotton: warm-hot temperature

Linen: hot temperature and water spritzer.

Jacquard and Damask: iron on the reverse side first, then on the front side to bring out the sheen.

Embroidery: iron on the reverse side with a towel on top to preserve the three-dimensional effect of the embroidery

TOWELLING CARE:

Lintea Mare towels are exclusively made from high quality combed pure cotton that keeps them soft and absorbent. Please follow the labels instructions to prolong the life of your towels and to preserve their beauty and feel.

Pre-wash your towels in hot water and rinse thoroughly in cold water before first use.

Wash your towels with coloureds together and separate from other products containing polyester or metal to avoid abrasion or peeling.

Do not overload the washing machine: this might cause fibers to break down or colours to fade. If the linens have coloured borders, it is normal on the  first few washes, the colour might fade , but they need to have enough space in the washing machine for rinsing.

Use neutral or mild detergent that is not alkaline and that does not contain any bleach or brighteners.

Do not bleach because this might weak fibers and cause fabrics to yellow.

Tumble dry on a low setting to avoid over drying the towels.

Most of the towels by Lintea Mare have cotton-binding. To preserve their beauty, we recommend to shake out the towels before placing them in the dryer and to stretch back into shape.

Iron the towels if there are applied borders

TABLE LINEN CARE:

Lintea Mare table linens are made from the highest quality of cottons, linens and mixed linens that give a lovely touch to any table for special occasions.

Just read  the care label on each item and follow the below maintenance rules for best results.

Use neutral or mild detergent that is not alkaline and that does not contain any bleach or brighteners. Bleach white table linens only, without any coloured borders or embroidery.

Treat the stains when they are fresh because if they are allowed to deposit, stains may be impossible to remove at a later date. We recommend to be very careful to pre-treat any stains, especially on colours. We suggest to test the detergent on the stains on a hidden corner.

Tumble dry on a low setting until slightly damp.

For ironing instructions, please follow the suggestions on “Bed Linen Care”

COLOURS:

Environmental protection laws sometimes force changes in the dyes and dying processes. For these reason and despite maximum efforts, there is the possibility of minimal colour differences.

Wash colours separately

It is normal with the first washes that the colours  run and it is necessary to thoroughly rinse until the water runs clear

When you have coloured borders the darker fabric on the first washes will lose some of its dye.  It is necessary to not overload the washing machine to avoid that the darker colour will go onto the lighter colour.  Again it is necessary to thoroughly rinse with plenty of water.
